Everyone wants to look good, and some people are willing to pay for it. Even the most health-conscious and fitness crazed among us struggle with problem areas on their bodies where the fat just won’t seem to come off. For years there was one solution, liposuction. And still, to this day, this is a great tool for positively changing the shape and contour of your body. However, there are some patients who opt for body sculpting (also known as body contouring) procedures instead.
There are four kinds of body sculpting offered at our office: Coolsculpting, Kybella, Vanquish, and SculpSure. Each of the procedures utilizes a different technology to eliminate pesky fat and each is ideal for different patients. But you may be wondering why someone would choose one of these four options over traditional liposuction. Here are the three most common reasons we see patients elect the non-surgical option for addressing their unwanted body fat.
The Surgery Averse
Tomophobia, the fear of medical procedures, is very real and very common. It’s not uncommon for us to see patients who are willing to do anything to change their appearance except surgery. In these cases, we always recommend body sculpting because we feel confident that our patients will leave loving their new appearance and never having to go “under the knife.” If surgery feels like too big of a commitment, we have a procedure for you.
Those With Little Downtime
Other patients have no fear of surgery but aren’t in a position to take off the necessary recovery time. From executives to stay-at-home-moms, we see plenty of people whose lives (and the people in them) depend far too much on their daily presence for them to undergo serious surgery. Since each of our body contouring procedures requires very little downtime, our patients get the results they’re hoping for without having to take time off from the most important roles they fill.
Not everyone is committed to the idea of plastic and cosmetic surgery. For those who are not ready to go all-in with a liposuction procedure, body contouring may be just what they’re looking for. It’s an excellent entry point at which self-improvement novices can dip their toes in the water before diving all the way in. For some, these non-surgical procedures give them the confidence to try more involved surgeries in the future.
No matter what the reason our patients choose to undergo one of our body sculpting treatments, they’re always glad that they did. If you find yourself in one of the aforementioned camps and would like to learn more about your body contouring options, contact us today.
